Teresa-Maria O’Shea (Carrignavar, Co. Cork), a student at St. Angela’s College, plays her fiddle for the elderly at nursing homes and at Mass. At her parish, she is an alter server and delivers readings at Mass. In addition, she speaks at churches about the importance of volunteering and how it has positively influenced her life. Her volunteer work extends to the Mallow Parish Youth Services where she volunteered last summer at the St. Aloysius Faith Camp. She was a junior leader for daily activities supporting the leaders and participants. Teresa-Maria has also completed her Gold Pope John Paul II Award.

“I have found Teresa-Maria to be conscientious, respectful, reliable, honest and trustworthy. She displayed good initiative, good communication skills and drive while involved with us,” explains Bernadette O’Connor of Mallow Parish Youth Ministry, CDYS. “She has a natural capability in connecting with the young people in the camp who were quiet in nature and had all of the skills to encourage them to use and share their gifts and talents.”
