Lena Goumaa (Crumlin, Co Dublin), a student at St. Paul’s Secondary School, volunteers with Islamic Relief, the Amal Women Association and the Islamic Foundation of Ireland. Her involvement includes public speaking, volunteering at events and participating in the local community. Additionally, every two weeks, Lena hosts a “coffee class” for Syrian refugees in the school to get together, chat and build relationships.

“Lena is always available and eager to help in any of the community services and that includes assisting with the refugees and those in need,” says Mudafar Al-Tawash of the Islamic Foundation of Ireland. “She is very mannerly, kind at heart and always willing to assist others. She is very reliable when it came to time, attendance and proved herself to be pleasant and trustworthy.”
