Eimhear Hardy (Ballymena, Co. Antrim), a student at St. Louis Grammar School, volunteers her time at four charities: Friends for Romania, MS Walks, Chest, Heart and Stroke and the Rasharkin Annual Charity event. Eimhear helped raise £500 for orphanages and schools in Romania and £1,000 for Chest, Heart and Stroke. As a long-time volunteer at the Rasharkin Annual Charity event, Eimhear assisted with registration, refreshments and event signage.
“Eimhear is certain that helping someone, even in the slightest way, is better than doing nothing at all, and therefore, believes it is her duty to continue the work that she has been doing as everyone deserves even the slightest bit of help when in need,” says Bronagh McGreevy, Principal of St. Louis Grammar School. “She has been raised to help those who are less fortunate than herself and to do what she would want others to do for her if she was in need. That is why volunteering has become a passion of hers. She promotes volunteer work to others and inspires other people to involve themselves with volunteering.”<< Back to 2019 National Honoureers
