Dominic Cronin (Mallow, Co. Cork), a student at Patrician Academy, is heavily involved in volunteer activities within his community including the Mallow Marlins Special Olympics Swimming Club where he trains with the members every week. He also visits the Nazareth House Nursing Home every Friday evening and organises activities with the residents.

Dominic coaches underage teams with Clyda GAA Clubs and volunteers as a maths tutor to first-year students. In 2018, he also helped with the Cloyne Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage to Lourdes

"Dominic is an extremely active member of his community but it is not borne out of any desire to get attention for the deeds that he does. His motivation comes from the heart where he truly believes that we are all here to help one another regardless of age, race or ability,” says Elaine O’Regan, Principal of Patrician Academy.

“Dominic has so much to give and we are very fortunate having him as part of our school community. People who make changes at local level, like Dominic, are the very people who go on to inspire others.”
