Christopher Magee (Belfast, Co. Antrim), a student at Our Lady and St. Patrick’s College, volunteers at a local foodbank each week sorting food donations and distributing food hampers to clients. At school, he also volunteers with St. Vincent De Paul, where he meets with peers to discuss fundraising opportunities for the charity. Last year, he had raised several thousand pounds for St. Vincent De Paul and the Morning Star Hostel from various fundraisers, including bake sales. He also supports initiatives for the elderly community by fundraising for the Towell House retirement home, participating in the Linking Generations Project and delivering Dementia-awareness training.

“Christopher has been volunteering with us for 2 years now in our foodbank, and he is a dedicated member of our team,” says Natalie Porter of Newtownards Foodbank. “Christopher is tireless in his commitment to come along each week, and his can-do attitude and great sense of humour is a real gift to our team. We really value Christopher as part of the Newtownards Foodbank and hope that he continues with us for many years.”
