Pramerica employees have taken part in the Skills at Work Programme and the Student Mentoring program operated under the Schools’ Business Partnership and the Student Mentoring programmes, facilitated by Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI). This is an excellent opportunity for staff to get involved in supporting senior cycle students through their final two years at school. Pramerica have established an excellent partnership with Mulroy College, Milford. The programmes not only benefit the students, but it also gives volunteers the chance to develop their leadership, team-building, interpersonal and communication skills.
Pramerica also facilitates a limited number of transition year placements each year.
Pramerica employees have taken part in Junior Achievement which brings business volunteers into the classrooms of primary and post primary schools to teach enterprise skills to the students.
Pramerica staff also volunteer for community service projects as part of the parent company's Community Volunteer Council (CVC). The CVC's initiative is to promote, encourage and coordinate local volunteerism.
The CVC hosted over 20 community volunteering projects in 2012 to raise funds for local and national causes. Some of the beneficiaries from the CVC projects include: funding for the Letterkenny St Patrick’s day Parade, the Irish Wheelchair association, Special Olympics Ireland, ISPCC, AWARE and the North West Simon Community.
On Global Volunteer Day last October, over 600 Pramerica Systems employees and their families made a difference by participating in fifteen different projects in Letterkenny, Tyrone, Derry and the Inishowen area.
Local and national causes and charities benefited from the efforts of volunteers and substantial funds were raised on some of the projects. The projects ranged from fun runs, to bag packing, to painting and decorating and clean-up activities.
Pramerica employees have also undertaken other fundraising and non-profit activities to address and support needs within the local community.
